AELP Conference
Dissemination of the Chief Inspector's Annual Report 2015Ofsted continues to play a very important part in the further education and skills system and an inspection can be a major make or break event. Understanding how Ofsted looks at things, its latest thinking, and where its concerns lie is important for all of us. With a new Common Inspection Framework now in operation there will be changes in emphasis that we need to be able to take account of. Ofsted also now has a new management structure in place and delegates will have the opportunity to hear from Paul Joyce HMI, the new Deputy Director for Further Education and Skills. As before, this conference will provide an overview of Ofsted’s annual state of the nation report. A lot has been said about apprenticeships based on the recent report and it will be interesting to see how prominently these types of messages feature. There will also be opportunities to explore in more depth some key areas through workshop sessions facilitated by HMI or senior Ofsted staff. Delegates will also hear from providers and employers who have made the grade. There will also be a more general Q and A session with the opportunity to ask about the implications of the proposed changes to inspection amongst other things.
