OverviewAELP is launching its new Third Sector Special Interest Group (SIG) with a conference in the prestigious surroundings of Portcullis House on the Parliamentary estate in Westminster on Thursday, 10 October 2019.The aim of the new SIG is to ensure that there is a voice and support for the needs of Third Sector skills providers who have a specific social mission achieved wholly or partly through the delivery of skills programmes. This will fill the gap left by the closure of the Third Sector National Learning Alliance. The Portcullis House conference will seek input from the sector to help shape AELP’s policy and promote the Third Sector’s way of working as a ‘mainstream’ necessity and not an optional ‘extra’ to colleges and one that is best delivered by Third Sector providers for their beneficiaries. VIP speakers are being invited to address the new SIG, but the conference will also ask relevant and challenging questions for all those involved: funders, activists and supporters. The event agenda is still being finalised and we may have to be selective from potentially a huge amount of ground to cover. Areas for debate are likely to include:

Alternatively, AELP is happy to accept a substitute from the same organisation. Please ensure you advise us of the replacement delegate name in advance of the event. Failure to inform AELP at least 24 hours before an event by email only of non-attendance will result in an automatic £25.00 + VAT cancellation fee to cover costs. |
