Delivering the foundations for success

Overview

AELP's refreshed Maths and English Conference will build on the success of our previous maths and English summits. The event will focus on how we can deliver maths and English in ways that work for all. This will include looking at how Functional Skills, ESOL, AEB and English and Maths requirements set by Ofsted can be delivered effectively to provide a golden thread though all provision types.

English and maths have long been a focus of AELP. Following on from our Skills Means Growth vision and the research which we have published in the first half of the year, the 2024 Maths and English Conference seeks to highlight and amplify the work of providers and practitioners to encourage decision-makers to enable English and Maths to work for all.

The conference will be structured around the themes of Policy, Delivery, Use of Technology, Learner Support and Preparation, and Assessment.

The agenda will be split into two parts of day, with the morning containing thought-provoking keynote speakers from the sector alongside ‘The Big Maths and English Debate’ which is set to cover topics such as the use of AI, SEND support and ESOL as well as the impact of maths and English on mental health and wellbeing.

The afternoon will allow for the opportunity to attend a range of interactive workshop sessions offering best practice that will transform delivery and leave delegates feeling inspired to bring their insights back to the workplace.
