Thomas Nicholson

Training Consultant, Acas

Tom is one of the trainers and advisors for the Yorkshire and Humber Region who delivers a large number of courses and in company training on numerous topic areas. Additionally he has a wider knowledge of employment legislation and its costs for organisations of all sizes. Tom delivers periodic employment law updates to large audiences of HR managers, solicitors and company directors.

He uses his knowledge and research skills from his degree in Law (LLB hons) where he also drafted a dissertation research paper into the implications of disability legislation and its impact on helping people into work. In addition to his degree, Tom draws on his Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice (LPC).

Since joining Acas Tom has qualified as a member of the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL) allowing for a more holistic approach to the delivery of effective training courses. Tom began his career working for Acas but has experience of both public and private sector organisations having worked for an international law firm prior to rejoining Acas in 2011.

Tom has a strong grasp of employment legislation and has a robust knowledge of how the Acas Codes of Good Practice not only compliment but also enhance the workplace for a more productive and enjoyable working relationship.
